A picture of Pyrfect Bliss
We live in Washington State on a beautiful and very big farm. Managing eleven of us stubborn, single-minded fur balls day-to-day is simply something that can not be imagined! We came to Pyr Bliss Farm from far and wide. Winnie and Mia came from Columbia-Cascade Great Pyrenees Rescue (Washington State). Eight of us came from rescues affiliated with NGPR: Daphne (Texas) and Rose (Idaho) came from the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society. Millie and Walter came from the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Oklahoma, Oliver from Country K-9 Rescue (Tennessee). Ellie and Sweet Pea came from Bear Creek Rescue (Missouri), Clara and our newest baby Norman came from the Great Pyrenees rescue of Oklahoma.
LISA TELLS THE PRY BLISS FARM STORY
My first Great Pyrenees “Aspen” (pictured below) was the start of my love story. She was a loving soul who was my companion for sixteen and a half years and was my first Pyr love.
I chuckle when I think of the look on Jack’s face every time I announced that I’d found another dog that “would be perfect for us”. He didn’t mind the first three or four but 14? He said absolutely not to every dog after six, but I saw the quivering upper lip and watery eyes with each new member of our family. Many have questioned my sanity having fourteen dogs. When I open the gate to the pasture and 14 bouncing white balls of fur go bounding off filled with joy, I know I made the right decision- they are home!
When I was diagnosed with MS at age twenty-seven, I wondered what kind of life I could have. I now know that everything happens for a reason. Each step I take I owe to our Great Pyr Family. We may have rescued them, but these big, beautiful dogs really rescued me. They made it through so much, and so will I!
We thank every loving soul who has ever had a part in rescue. You are such heroes to us all! Thank you for giving our Prys a chance at life……we are forever grateful to you.
Love Lisa and Jack
